Room Inspection With Scores and a Pass Mark
A room inspection checklist scored line by line, with a pass mark and critical items, so only a supervisor can mark a hotel room ready.
A room someone cleaned and then signed off themselves has not really been inspected. That is why assigning rooms and passing rooms are two separate rights.
Attendants clean. Supervisors assign and pass. Neither can slip into the other's role by mistake.
How the inspection works
- The sheet covers eight areas, each line scored 0 to 5.
- Scores are weighted into a total out of 100.
- Your hotel sets the pass mark.
- Critical lines fail the room by themselves, whatever the total. A dirty bathroom is one example.
Rooms that fail return to their attendant with the failing lines listed, and the room history records it.
Spot checks and targeted re-checks
A manager may be told to recheck a sample, such as one in every ten passed rooms, or rooms cleaned by someone whose failure rate is climbing. Each re-check is logged in the history like any other inspection.
Why it matters
A room only becomes inspected after a passed sheet, and your front office sells only inspected rooms.
