Minibar, Linen Tracking and Cost per Clean
Track minibar refills and charges, linen sent to and from the laundry, and the true cost per clean built up from what each room used.
Picture an entry: three linen items, a dental kit and two bottles of water issued to 304 at 09:50. It beats a month-end stock count, because those entries, each one named and added up per room, are the month-end count.
Minibar sales from the room
Think of the minibar as stock kept inside the room.
- It is refilled from the store.
- Whatever the guest consumes is charged to the folio like any other amount.
- Items missing at checkout that were never billed show up as variance, with a name attached.
Linen out and back
Linen is tracked through its life rather than used up:
- Issued to a room, then marked soiled.
- Sent for washing in batches, counted by type.
- Counted again on return: fresh stock goes back in, rewash stays out, and rejected or discarded pieces are written off, each with its reason.
What each clean costs
Consumables and chemicals are priced at their last purchase price. Linen is costed per wash, because a sheet is laundered, not consumed. You see it by room, by day and as a monthly total on the dashboard.
Good to know
Housekeeping stock sits in the same store system as your kitchen, as a separate outlet with its own location and ledger. Purchasing, receiving and Hotel Accounting handle it exactly the same way.
