Fair Auto-Assignment of Housekeeping Rooms
Assign housekeeping rooms by credits and priority, automatically or by hand, matching suites to trained staff and keeping VIPs away from trainees.
Counting rooms does not measure effort. Turning round a suite after checkout is a much bigger job than a quick tidy of a standard room.
How workload is counted
- Each visit type has credits.
- Extra beds add a little.
- Each room type has a multiplier.
- A visit's credits are fixed the moment it is created.
Roughly ten credits equals one hour of an attendant's time.
Who comes first?
Rooms are queued by priority: an arrival due at noon ahead of a stay-over, a VIP ahead of a standard room, and a room the desk has requested ahead of everything. You write the priority rule, and the reason shows on each visit.
Assignment, by hand or automatic
Your supervisor can hand rooms out manually or let the system do it. Unassigned visits go out most urgent first to an on-duty attendant who is qualified:
- Suite-trained staff for suites, deep-clean-trained staff for deep cleans.
- Never a VIP room to a trainee.
- Their own floor first, then others.
- Whoever has the fewest credits so far.
If an attendant is absent, their rooms are shared out by the same logic.
Asking for help
An attendant running late can tap for help. Supervisors are alerted and can split or move the room, and the history shows who helped.
