The Right GST Slab on Every Room Night
Hotel room GST is worked out from each night's tariff and the slab in force that day, with OTA tax-inclusive prices handled correctly.
You never choose a GST slab by hand. Rate Management reads each night's tariff and applies the slab the law sets for it on that date.
Why it matters
Room GST depends on the tariff and the slab table valid that day. Cross a threshold and the new rate applies from that night. Getting each night right keeps invoices and returns clean.
What about OTA prices with zero tax?
Some channels send tax as zero. That does not mean unknown; it means GST is already included in what the guest paid. We post the night at whatever taxable value produces the channel's total, with no second round of GST. If a guest paid ₹2,695 online, your desk will not ask them for another ₹135.
And your restaurant?
- Food has its own GST slab.
- Service charge is taxed.
- Bills show the HSN code on every line.
- Each outlet sets up its GST groups once and assigns every dish to one.
What gets recorded
Each posting stores its taxable value, its slab and the CGST/SGST split (or IGST). Your GST return is built from those postings and matches your invoices to the rupee.
