Derived Rates From One Base Price
A derived rate calculator: enter one base rate plus room and meal gaps, and every plan and room type is priced, OTA promotion included.
Many revenue managers run their tariff from a spreadsheet with a few inputs and formulas for the rest. Rate Management builds that logic in, so you keep the maths and stop retyping.
What you enter
- One base figure: the lowest price you want shown, for your entry room type on room only.
- A room gap for each higher room type.
- A meal gap for each meal option beyond room only.
- OTA discount: the percentage the channel deducts from the price you display. Rate Management works out what to send so that, after the discount, the guest sees your intended price.
Your PMS rate is base, then room gap, then meal gap, added together. Move the base and the whole card shifts; edit one gap and just its column changes.
Can it work backwards?
Yes. Enter the price you want shown on an OTA and it tells you what to push. You get three tabs:
- The derived rate card.
- The rates as they will be pushed.
- A worked example, explained in the help manual with three illustrations.
Good to know
The calculator updates your rate card only. Bookings already made keep the price agreed when they were taken.
