The Booked Rate Stays Locked to the Stay
A booking rate lock: the price agreed at booking is the price every night is posted at, even if you change the season's tariff later.
Once a guest agrees a price, by phone, on your website or through an OTA, that price holds for the whole stay. Only a person can change it, and their name goes with the change.
How it works
Each night of the booking goes to the folio at exactly the agreed rate. If you reprice the season later, stays already booked are not affected.
Who can set the price?
- Your front office can set a booking's price, within its limit, until checkout. Think of a walk-in who bargains at the counter, or a regular guest on a fixed rate.
- Discounts are recorded decisions: a percentage or a flat amount, a reason chosen from your hotel's list, and the login that granted it.
- OTA bookings arrive with the channel's price, and the desk cannot change it by hand. The channel decides what it sold.
What does the audit post each night?
Every night is posted on the folio as its own itemised line, at that night's booked rate with its GST slab. Your revenue reports, your ledger and your GST return all read those same lines.
